Okay, Okay, I KNOW, “Thanksgiving is over Terra…” Well I still have some turkey left, Ha!
I didn’t make anything earth shaking, or swanky as I would say, BUT I did make a delicious quiche. I love quiche! I think I finally found the trick to get my hubby to enjoy it more. You want to know the secret? Well read on, silly!
I diced up parsnips, celery, carrots, and kale. They each have a unique flavor that will work wonderfully together.
I sauteed the parsnips, carrots, and celery first with some olive oil until tender. Next I added in the leftover turkey, kale, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, let saute’ for another 2-3 minutes. While you are cooking the vegetables, prepare the pie crust in the pie pan. I sprayed the pie pan, my experience is that it ALWAYS sticks….very frustrating. Now I bought a pie crust, BUT I have since learned how easy making a pie crust can really be. I will be making a homemade pie crust in the next post, so stay tuned! Also, if you are nervous about making a pie crust, and you have had failed attempt, after failed attempt… WELL check out these fantastic sites, they both share very helpful how-to videos for making a pie crust. The first site is very near and dear to me, Chef2Chef.net. The other site I just discovered and love them, CHOW.
Time to bake this delicious thing! I set the oven at 350 degrees F for about 25-30 minutes.
Oh and I am about to use one of my new pretty plates, so excited to share! The quiche turned out gorgeous, and tasted amazing.
I love how much filling I put in it too, that was the reason my hubby liked the quiche so much. Now I know the trick to get my sweetie to eat my homemade quiche.
See my pretty plate all happy, happy with this delicious quiche!
Until next time, Come on in, and have a seat,
