It is time to get healthy, with a happy tummy! I was asked by Clever Girls Collective to share a healthy recipe with the delicious Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt. Healthy + Greek Yogurt = Fun!
I was inspired after I took a trip to the local farmers market last week, and picked up a lot of delicious fresh vegetables and fruit. What better way to create a healthy recipe, then with fresh and local?
When I was thinking about a healthy recipe, my mind went right to a smoothie. A breakfast that would be filling, satisfying, and well give you a happy tummy! For some reason, I always add strawberries and bananas to a smoothie. This time with peaches still being in season here in the South. Let’s change it up a bit!
The other day I read about adding a grain to your smoothie. That just made so much sense! You can use oats, millet, quinoa….the options are endless! Here is a recipe shared by The Spicy RD, she made a delicious mango smoothie with millet.
If you know me, you know I love Greek yogurt! Greek yogurt has a gorgeous texture, and is unique compared to regular yogurt. Dannon® Oikos® is created through an authentic Greek straining process which gives it a rich and creamy-thick texture. I really loved the flavor of this Greek yogurt, and it complimented my smoothie perfectly!
Mango Peach Smoothie

1/2 cup (one container) plain Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt
1 mango roughly cut up, freeze overnight
1 peach roughly cut up, freeze overnight
2 Tbsp local honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup cooked oats
Directions:
In blender – Add milk, yogurt, and fruit, and blend well. Add honey, cinnamon, and oats, blend.
Note – The oats will give it a thick texture, so you may choose to add more milk.
