Coffee is definitely the perfect way to start any day….WELL if you are a coffee addict like me! However, another perfect way to start a day is getting a few servings of fruits, vegetables, and especially calcium. You could choose a bowl of oatmeal with fruit and yogurt, but that will not include any vegetables. A smoothie can include all three, calcium, fruit, AND vegetables. Sounds perfect right? Well depending on the recipe, smoothies are usually full of milk, which is full of lactose. For some, enjoying a smoothie is farthest from their mind….
However, you could enjoy a lactose free yogurt in your delicious smoothie. Yup, a lactose free yogurt that is full of happy, and healthy flavors.
Yoplait has a new yogurt, a lactose free treat. So fantastic, “something for everyone,” which is what CafeTerraBlog loves!
The lactose free yogurt has 50% of the daily value of calcium, which is two times the calcium of the leading yogurt. Most leading yogurts have 25% the daily value of calcium per 6oz container.
The Yoplait lactose free yogurt is 99% fat free, and has vitamins A and D in each 6 oz serving. My favorite part of this delicious treat is there are no artificial sweeteners, bonus to me! You will have four choices in flavor, cherry, French vanilla, strawberry and peach.
For smoothies, there is never an exact measurement, it is usually a little of this, and little of that! So for my smoothie recipes, I will share what I used, but you can adjust or change to your liking.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie -
Almond milk, strawberry Yoplait lactose free yogurt, frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, cinnamon, and honey. My hubby said his smoothie was “Sweet and Delicious!”
Peach Strawberry Smoothie -
Almond milk, peach Yoplait lactose free yogurt, frozen peaches, frozen strawberries, carrots, cinnamon, honey, and one teaspoon of Florida Crystal pure cane sugar (the sugar is optional.) I included the sugar because with the carrots, I felt there needed to be a bit more sweetness.
I hope you enjoy!
