Crystal & Roses AND so much more!

In 1997 my life became soooooo much brighter!  I married the man of my dreams, my best friend:-)  Let’s celebrate together fifteen amazing years with a wonderful feast!

We love splurging, which means going to a wonderful seafood restaurant is the best option for us both!  If you have a Bonefish Grill in your town, I highly recommend it.  The customer service alone gives this place five stars in my book.  To choose a dish for your dinner is really tough, so I left it up to the server this time!

We decided we had to *clink* our glasses to 15 amazing years…there have been several ups and downs…..but still amazing!

Since I started watching Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel, I love trying new foods.  I finally tried mussels about two years ago, and I love them.  We had mussels with blue cheese and bacon in Winston-Salem…..OH MY WORD!!!  Tonight we had Mussels Josephine.  The mussels are drenched in tomatoes, garlic, basil, and lemon wine sauce.  We laughed that the moment we get a mussel that tastes like the ocean, this dish is ruined for us.  We didn’t have that experience, every bite was amazing, and you had to dip the bread in that delicious lemon wine sauce!

Since I was born in Michigan, I love trout.  I remember going fishing with my Grandpa and Dad, I always lucky and caught fish too.  So I had to order the Pecan Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout with Herbed Jasmine Rice.   Seriously every bite was heaven!

My sweet hubby was in the mood for salmon tonight, so he ordered the grilled salmon with whipped potatoes.  He was a pretty happy hubby after that delicious dinner!

And seriously a meal is not complete without dessert….remember, I like to enjoy my dessert before my dinner!  I was intrigued by the flourless brownies topped with delicious vanilla ice cream!  The brownies were fudgy happiness, that could have made me do a happy dance….if I wasn’t so full!

What a perfect way to end a wonderful day!!!  With my new full-time job, we are going to enjoy a fun getaway sometime this year, we deserve it!

Now, why crystals and roses?  Each anniversary has a special item that is used to symbolize your special year.  For 15 years of marriage you celebrate with crystal, and the flower that is given is roses.  When I read about 15 year anniversary, they indicated that this is a important year, a milestone for sure, and should be celebrated in a special way!  So I say, let’s make this year the year to celebrate!

How do you celebrate your anniversary?  Do you enjoy mussels?

Until next time, Come on in, Have a seat,

Hugs, Terra

Happy, happy, happy Anniversary to you and the love of your life :-). It sounds like you had a fabulous celebration. My hubby and I will celebrate 13 years in October. No doubt, he will order oysters, but I prefer mussels :-) Wishing you 15+15+15+more years of a happy marriage!

  • Congratulations to both of you! 15 years is a long time. We love mussels as well. We make them in white wine sauce but I cooked some frozen ones with no taste at all. I wish we lived right on the sea. To many more years with your husband :)
    • I remember a chef telling me that the easiest, and best way to enjoy mussels, is cook them in white wine:-)  I love reading that, that is your favorite way to make them!  I agree, I wish I had a little cottage right beside the ocean, that would be heavenly:-) Sending hugs your way!
  • Happy Anniversary - you're a cute couple.  15 years IS a long time.  I've only been married 8 years.  :)  We've been together for a very long time though.  It took me a long time to decide I wanted to stay on this continent. lol Sadly I don't enjoy mussels but my husband could eat mine, yours and everyone elses.  It works out.

  • I have been to Bonefish Grill!! Once. During 5280 Week in Denver. One week when certain restaurants offer a complete meal for $52.80 for two. Um...I left; it was mad, jam packed. Guessing I need to try again huh? Happiest of anniversaries to both of you!
    • Honestly, I like to go to restaurants during the week, when they don't have hour waits.  ALTHOUGH Bonefish is worth the wait....you may be happier going during the week;-)  BUT Yes, you should definitely enjoy them soon!  I love all the choices actually, you can't go wrong for sure:-) Thank you so much! Sending hugs your way:-)
