From The Vault – Lemon Chess Pie!

Wow, it is already June!!!!!  Where has this year gone?  Do we start counting down till Christmas now?  EEK!!!!

When we moved to the South, I was pretty excited to explore all the Southern foods.  I mean seriously, this cornbread lovin’, sweet tea drinker, with a side of fried green tomatoes, was REALLY EXCITED!!!

I just picked up some old recipe books from here in North Carolina,  I plan to start sharing some of the lovely recipes.  Back in January I made my first chess pie.  Have you heard of, or had chess pie?

So I know this recipe was just shared in January, but I thought it would be a fun Summer treat!  Plus, I wasn’t for sure if you knew that I contributed over at Queen City Exclusive.  The fun recipe is over there, along with all the other recipes I have had fun sharing.  I will be sharing a recipe every week there, some from the vault of CafeTerraBlog, and some new recipes!  You can follow Queen City Exclusive on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.  Stop by and say hi!

Next week I will be working in and around Detroit, Michigan, the beautiful state where I grew up!  I get to stay with my Sister, my Niece, and my in-laws.  I am told my Niece is planning a sleep-over with her Aunt Te-Te:-)

I will try really hard to do lots of blog love, I don’t want to miss all your gorgeous blogs.  BUT with all the time working, and catching up with family…..I have a feeling next week will be CRAZY!!!  I have a few guest bloggers that will be stopping by to keep the seats warm at CafeTerra.  First sweet Jenni from Pastry Chef Online will stop by, and then lovely Roxana from A Little Bit Of Everything will be here!

Here is the link to the post I did in January, and a little bit of history behind the chess pie.  OR you can find the post here at Queen City Exclusive, and tell them “HI” for me!

Have you had Chess Pie?  I need to make a Chocolate Chess Pie next…..now that would make my sweet hubby VERY happy!
