Pumpkin Party: Pumpkin Cocktail Three Different Ways!

Last week when the Butternut Squash Pizza Dough was posted, I had no idea the love it would receive.  Thank you for all the wonderful comments!  I hope you have a chance to try the fun recipe, it really is delicious.  Some of you said it’s a great way to sneak veggies in to a dish for your kids.  I couldn’t agree more, the more fun ways we can incorporate veggies for kids, the better!  Someone else also shared that their kids do not like squash, but love green veggies.  So I suggested adding in pureed broccoli or spinach to the pizza crust.  Remember…at CafeTerraBlog there is ALWAYS something for everyone!

To keep the squash love happening, today I wanted to share three drink recipes that were shared in Queen City Exclusive magazine.  When I made the three cocktails, they were my first cocktails I have ever really made.  Since then I have made a few more drinks, and definitely plan to make many more fun cocktails.  With Yellow Tail wine, I made a Poison Appletini and Snow White Crusader.  AND with Crystal Head Vodka I made a Cranberry Apple Martini.

Confession time!!!  I am a Harry Potter freak, I have listened to all seven audiobooks so much, I have seriously lost count.  Sooooooo…the inspiration to the cocktails was from pumpkin juice that was always shared on Harry Potter!

 Pumpkin Apple Martini

1 oz (30ml) vodka

1 oz (30 ml) sour apple schnapps

1 oz (30 ml) pumpkin juice

Dash of cinnamon

Splash of pineapple juice

Frozen apple cubes

Cut apple in cubes, and freeze to make apple ice cubes.

For pumpkin juice – wrap 2 cups of pumpkin puree in a cheese cloth that is placed in a strainer over a bowl, press down with another bowl to strain liquid out. It will yield about 2 oz of pumpkin juice.

Mix together vodka, sour apple schnapps, pumpkin juice, and cinnamon in a closed container or shaker. Pour in a martini glass, add a splash of pineapple juice and frozen apple cubes.

Chocolate bar

Make one cup of your favorite coffee.

In a small sauce pot heat up one cup of milk.

In a coffee cup add warm coffee, warm milk, pumpkin juice, chocolate liquor and dash of cinnamon, mix well. Top with whipped cream, and grate a small amount of chocolate on top of whipped cream.

When the final Harry Potter movie came out in theaters, I had to celebrate with a Harry Potter party!  I did find a website that had created all the different treats that we drooled over in the movie….and audiobooks!  I decided to make Pumpkin Pasties, Rock Cakes and of course some delicious Pumpkin Juice!

Okay your turn since I confessed about my Harry Potter love!  Tell me something fun and silly about you?
