Time for your Comfy Pants – Thanksgiving Favorites Recipe Roundup

So is it possible for an already crazy schedule to get HOLY CATS crazier?  In my house it does.  Last week and this week are filled with lots of food safety auditing-planning for my families arrival for Thanksgiving-AND finding a few free moments to rest with my sweet hubby.  What does all that mean?  No new recipe this week.  Now don’t look so sad, I believe you may like the alternative.

What I did was compile recipes that would give you some cocktail, appetizer, main dish, and dessert ideas.  There is one recipe from a few years ago, BUT I can guarantee the recipe is truly delicious!  To start the fun, here are two cocktail recipes that will kick-off your Thanksgiving day in style!

OH WAIT…..I guess I should share breakfast before the cocktails…..unless you want the cocktails for breakfast?

Every Thanksgiving morning my mom had a pan of pecan rolls that did the rising thing while I slept.  We devoured that pan of pecan rolls they are that delicious!  Did you have a traditional breakfast your family enjoyed every Thanksgiving?  Now I didn’t bring pecan rolls, BUT here are a couple ways to make your morning brighter!

Hubby and I are snack freaks….literally!  On weekends when we are trying to catch up on sleep, relaxing, and sports of course, we grab several different snacks and just enjoy the moment.  So here are a couple pre-dinner snacks to keep your blood sugar up, and smiles on your face.  Just don’t fill up on those fun snacks, that dinner in the oven is calling your name.

Now if you didn’t fill up too much on your breakfast, appetizers, or yummy cocktails…WHEW, it is amazing the food consumed on this lovely holiday!  Here are a few ideas to compliment your dinner.  You may want to wear some comfy pants…ALL day!  The recipes I will share next include a family favorite, my Grandma’s ROCKIN’ cranberry relish.  There is an award-winning stuffing recipe, I won a kitchenaid mixer for this recipe!  AND you always need rolls for dinner.

  • Thanksgiving day is definitely the day for comfy pants! For breakfast, I usually have a Bloody Mary, then a snack, then maybe another Bloody Mary. However, this year, that apple pie cocktail is looking very interesting. 🙂 Great post Terra! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I love the title of your post – comfy pants indeed. The first thing I did when I got back to our hotel room after having Thanksgiving dinner with family in Atlanta was to throw on my yoga pants. Your butternut squash scones are screaming my name!!! But so is the egg bake and the dill rolls. Wait. Let me get those yoga pants back on 🙂 Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!!
