This is not a secret I promise, grilled romaine has been shared by many. Now are you saying, “grilled lettuce, say what?” Honestly, my grill master and I have found you can grill just about anything. So why not grill lettuce right? Grilled romaine lettuce will give a your homemade Caesar salad a charred flavor on the outside, and cool refreshing flavor on the inside. Keep the lettuce in wedges, and top with Caesar dressing, croutons, parmesan, and if you choose anchovies. Grilled romaine for your wedge Caesar Salads will be perfect for a meal, or as a delicious side!
This is a short and sweet post, and really no recipe required. When you grill the lettuce, you can use a propane grill, or a charcoal grill.
For Propane Grill: Just set your propane to high, and sit the wedges of lettuce over the flames. Cook each side for about two minutes, or until the lettuce has a char look, and wilted.
For Charcoal Grill: Once you have your coals ready, sit the wedges of lettuce over the flames. For the charcoal grill you may need to cook for less than two minutes. Let the lettuce get the char appearance, and look wilted.
