Homemade Kahlua

It’s crazy to think it’s already December.  Since everyone is scrambling around making treats, and holiday shopping, this is the perfect post to share with you.  A few weeks ago I made a Kahlua & Fudge Hot Chocolate, and ran out of Kahlua.  So I decided it’s time to make some homemade coffee-boozy love.  Making homemade Kahlua is so easy, and just fun to say you made it.  So grab a bottle, a few glasses, and let’s enjoy some Homemade Kahlua together.

Homemade Kahlua

This is my Mom’s recipe that she got from a friend years ago.  I can totally remember the paper the recipe was on, and how it was held together with a safety pin.  Mom always made this recipe during the holidays, because she and dad love Kahlua & cream.  She sometimes shared it… okay, she always shared the delicious liquor.

Homemade Kahlua

Right now you will find many bloggers sharing homemade liquor recipes.  They all look fabulous, too.  Another one I want to make is homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream.  I enjoy Kahua more though, because it can be sealed, and kept for a very long time.  With Baileys, once you open the bottle it has to be used up in seven days.  With my crazy schedule I would forget about the Bailey’s Irish Cream… and that would be bad.

I plan to make a few fun recipes with the Kahlua this month, so stay tuned!  For now, here are a few boozy treats to enjoy: Irish Coffee Blondies, Baked Apples in Red Wine, Boozy Egg Nog Caramel Corn.
