For today, we need a cocktail to cool us down, or for some, it may be needed to warm you up. This recipe takes the classic whiskey sour to a whole new level. There will be bits and pieces of strawberries that will join you with every sip… or gulp. With strawberries, bourbon, basil, and lime, it doesn’t get any better than this! In small sauce pot, on medium to low heat, cook together sugar and water, once sugar is dissolved add basil, let cook together for another 1-2 minutes. The sugar water should have a strong basil flavor. Let cool.
In blender, mix strawberries, bourbon, lime juice, basil simple syrup, and ice. Don't liquify, let strawberries stay chunky.
