Chocolate Cherry Cordial Pinot Noir Cookies

Wine with cookies, sure. Wine in cookies, heck yeah! Right? I mean, as a wine lover how could I not add some to my baked treats? This cookie was a fun little experiment and took a couple tries to get it right. Once we agreed on the taste, texture and most importantly, color; we had a winner in our kitchen. This little ball of boozy love is not too sweet, but full of chocolate cherry fun. Each bite is filled with the flavors from the chocolate cherry cordials. Who wants one- or maybe more than one- Chocolate Cherry Cordial Pinot Noir Cookies?

There is a section for my Greek Yogurt Recipes, because I love working with Greek yogurt. For this recipe, I didn’t have any eggs. Hey, who needs eggs, right? You can see how puffy the cookie looks even without eggs, that’s all thanks to the Greek yogurt magic. If you haven’t baked much with Greek yogurt, I dare you to give it a go!

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup Pinot Noir (I used Mark West Pinot Noir for the cherry flavors)
1 cup 2% Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
16 milk chocolate covered cherry cordials, chopped
1/3 cup chopped maraschino cherries
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray sheet pan with cooking spray.

In large bowl, mix together brown sugar, Pinot Noir, Greek yogurt and vanilla extract.

In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well, add in cherries, chocolate chips, and chocolate cherry cordials.

Next, add 1 Tbsp of batter for each cookie on prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, depending on oven, will be golden brown on bottom of cookie.

Recipe makes 30-32 cookies.

Enjoy with your left over Pinot Noir!
